Meet the Founder
Meghan Powell is the Founder of Improv Boss, a company that provides engaging professional development workshops using improvisational comedy concepts for businesses. With a background in corporate sales and professional improv, Meghan, a former college softball athlete, brings a unique perspective to her work and has helped countless individuals and organizations improve their communication and teamwork skills.
Starting her corporate sales career at Next College Student Athlete, utilizing her athletic recruiting experience to help families. While working there, in the evenings, she completed professional training at all three major Chicago improv theaters, The Second City Conservatory program, iO Theater & The Annoyance Theater. Seeing the correlation between the skills she was learning with improvisation and how they translated to her everyday life, she started to skyrocket at work. She then went on to develop and teach classes at NCSA called Career Development Program. After seeing firsthand and confirming with empirical evidence that improv can improve teamwork, communication, public speaking, and leadership development, boosting confidence individually and the overall culture of an organization while having fun! iMProv Boss was born!

Meghan's experience from corporate giants to tech-startup has been invaluable in her work at Improv Boss, where she has successfully contracted with top-tier companies, including NCSA, Uber Eats, and Feldco, to provide customized training solutions for class sizes ranging from 4 to 400 employees.
Meghan had conducted virtual improv with Improv Boss before it was cool, performing in approximately 40 countries since COVID-19. Companies like Huntington Bank, Sony, Fox, ABB, Equifax, Rubrik, Fluor, AMGEN, Autodesk, and the USDA have trusted Meghan and her team to deliver for their employees.
In addition to her corporate experience, Meghan is a professional improviser who still actively performs with Nova Han Productions, The Immersion Theater, Fishsticks Comedy, and the award-winning team Delorean. Meghan's passion is to use improvisation to strengthen communication skills for individuals and organizations to develop in all areas of communication, from active listening to thinking on their feet and collaboration to gain confidence in anything they do.
Overall, Meghan's diverse range of skills and experiences in corporate and improv worlds translates improv concepts into real-world communication and leadership skills. A safe environment for people to have those "ah ha" moments when building their "Yes And" muscle. All this makes her uniquely qualified to lead and provide impactful improv-based training to clients.
